The work in Urban Biotic is a reflection of the biological manifesting itself within industrial urban environments. Deborah Brown’s oil paintings harmoniously depict natures presence in the urban jungle of Brooklyn. Jon Elliottoffers “skeptical paintings, depicting mounds of old and obsoletecomputers and televisions” wherein we find only subtle hints of naturalforms emerging from the obliterated earth. In Hyungsub Shin’ssculptural work, we witness a transformative organic force re-assertingitself over the most mundane of industrial materials, such asjanitorial mops and electrical wires.
